Well, we had a huge scare on Monday. Kyran's apnea monitor went off while he was nursing and Talyse had to use CPR to start him breathing again. After four rounds, he was breathing and crying, so she called 911 and they took him to the ER to be checked out. All of the tests have come back ok, and they think it was just reflux, so we will now be giving him Zantac twice a day and taking some precautions like sitting him up after feedings and putting his bassinet at an incline.
He doesn't show any signs of infection, and tested negative for RSV and the flu, so that's very good news. He has spent the last two nights at the hospital and will be coming home this afternoon! Karyssa has missed her brother and we can't wait to have him back home!
God was definitely with Kyran during this time and totally took over Talyse's body as she administered the CPR!
We have another pediatrician appointment on Friday, so we'll know a little more then and have updated weights.
Yesterday was their due date, so they are now officially "newborns", although still with preemie complications. Their corrected age will be based on their due date, so developmental milestones will be a couple of months behind their actual age. Please continue to pray for both Kyran and Karyssa!
